ANSWER:

The reading and the lecture are both about Venezuelan immigration. In the lecture, the interviewer explained that about 700 immigrants are installed in Denver. The communities in Denver and other organizations are helping them through donations. While the interviewer just focuses on the help, the author of the reading explains the consequences and causes of the immigration crisis in more detail.

According to the reading, people from Venezuela fly away from their homeland, mainly, because of the high inflation, poverty, widespread violence, safety concerns, and hunger. This argument is supported by the woman interviewed, who explained that in Venezuela, there is no food, therefore there are alarming levels of malnutrition and people search for food in the trash.

Secondly, the lecture states that there are a great number of organizations that are helping Venezuelan immigrants. This statement is clearly supported by the reading when the author explains that host governments, partner and faith-based organizations, and UN Agencies -such as the IOM-, and the UNHCR are collaborating to protect the refugees and migrants.
